Jake's Skimboarding Page originally
came on line in 1997 as
a hobby sight. It still is. I discovered skimming back in the 60's,
carried into the 70's, forgot about it in the 80's and rediscovered it
in the
90's. Once my own kids were old enough to take up the sport, I built
their
first boards. It
wasn’t long before they were getting their friends into the skimming.
Eventually, that led to building more boards and selling them on the
beach. I
never
built them with any plans to get rich. I built them for fun. We had
some wonderful summers on the beach.
This
page will give you a sample of some of the boards I
built and sold. Email me any pictures of boards you have made and I
will post them here. I'd love to see your designs.

Building
your own skimboard is not that difficult. The savings can really kick
in when you build more than one.
